We’ve been here for 3 years and this is the first year our Lupines have flowered.

The first season, they were eaten by the Deerski Family along with most of the other flowers.

The second season, we built a fence and moved many flowers into the fenced in zone including the Lupines. Sadly, they did not like the spot we put them in. It seemed they burned up.
At the end of last season, we moved the lupine within the fenced in zone to a spot that got some shade in late afternoon and this year they are beautiful!

In addition to being beautiful we love the fuzzy bumblebees that are attracted to this flower. Here is an 18 second video from our garden just this morning.
This post is part of Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge.

Lupines!! I have not ever tried them, but I have some seeds now and more coming in later, so maybe next year or in a couple we might have them too. I am trying to plant and cultivate plants for pollinators, and native plants as well.

They are worth the wait! I have to look up what to do with the seeds because there’s tons of them. Yeah for the pollinators!
