Hi! Otis here!
Momma continues to work hard in the garden and guess what? I am here to help! Or at least keep her company.
First, we stuffed out the weeds by using the paper grocery bags we’ve saved all winter, then we added 3 more strawberry plants to the 4 we already had.
Momma also planted Borage seeds in the strawberry patch.
Borage (also known as Starflower) is edible. The leaves AND the flowers are edible. Borage is a great companion plant for strawberries because they attract pollinators to pollinate the strawberries.
Here is a little seedling just starting in our garden.
Guess what else Borage does? It attracts insects that eat other insects that would otherwise ruin your strawberry plants! How’s that for purrfect!
PLUS, planting Borage near your strawberry plants will cause your strawberries to have better flavor, increased berry production and adds extra trace minerals into the soil which the strawberry plant sucks up making the berries have more nutrients for you!
Holy cow! Borage is the bomb.
Here I am helping out.
