The Original Aqua Cat

Hi Otis here! I’m on my way to somewhere.

I’m here to tell you about all the flooding we have experienced, I’ve heard it referred to as the 20 year flood. It started right after Meowmy and PawPaw moved here which was May 2018 and we think the water started to recede this last fall of 2021. That’s not confirmed, though. We’ll have a better idea in Spring. The snow has melted a lot over the last couple of days and I can tell you the front yard, back yard and side yards are all flooded. So, we’re still living on an island. I’ve been here for a little over a year now and all I’ve known is a lot of water. I’ve never seen it dry here. Here are some pictures of the course of the flooding:

One of our outbuildings referred to as the Chicken Shack ~ Couldn’t get any chickens yet.

Then it all froze.

So, it’s been really hard for Meowmy to do all the plantings and planning for chickens because of this crazy weather. The good news is that the house is up high so there is property damages but the house and the Barnage were safe from the flooding.

Now, Meowmy has been searching and searching and searching for a video that she deleted and she came across a whole bunch of other videos she thought she lost. This next one is one of them. Now, you may have seen my other Aqua Cat video but that was the second one and the quality was not that good. This is the first Aqua Cat video and the sun is shining so the picture looks much better. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by and we’ll be talking to you real soon!

  2. You sure are very brave. You should join Cat Scouts, you would get a badge for going in the water like that. I am glad your house and barnage are safe. XO

  3. Wowwzers! We have bad floods here but NOTHING like that! Although the people across the river were evacuated last spring. And I can’t see any of the cats here getting their toes wet! Otis is something special! Thanks for sharing the videos and I hope your water abates soon. We hope everything goes done without the house flooding!
