Happy Tuesday! We hope this one makes you smile.
The Prowlers are completely off the kibble and are currently eating a combo of raw chicken (ground up bone in, skin on chicken thighs with added fish oil) that we formed into 1.5 ounce meatballs plus some canned meat. We are waiting on all of the supplements we ordered to arrive so we can make the proper, nutritionally balanced chicken balls.
Floki Cat displays a behavior called Food Caching which is how wild cats save their food for later. Food caching is thought to help preserve any left over food by keeping it cool. It is also a way to protect against other animals dining on their hard won catch. In this case, Floki is hiding his food from Zoe Cat. We notice that Floki and Otis try to hide their food but Zoe Cat does not practice this behavior.

Happy Tuesday,
Homestead Prowlers
This totally explains why our cat Lucy does this behavior! I had no idea! She was almost feral/ wild when we found her in our back yard. She was only about 6 months old and in heat- but we managed to convince her that coming into our home was a good thing! She does this covering up behavior when she is done eating…thanks for the education and have a lovely day!

Lucy made a good decision to come into your life! At first, we thought it was just funny but then I thought, this has to mean something so I did a little research. Now, I have to figure out why Floki does a similar move prior to drinking any water. LOL!

Adorable and she found the food even though all that hard work was done. Adorable and I loved the music too.

Pipo never did that, but Minko did it all the time, the more so when he was diagnosed with his ibd and wasn’t’ eating unless I fed him.
Now I know why, we thought he was considering his food as distasteful and needing to be covered up like in the litter box, he would always cover up Pipo’s downloads, cause he never covered up,anything, why not when you have a trusted furbling/servant to do it for you. LOL!

Ahhhh! That’s very interesting! It’s hard to figure out why they do certain things. I still have so many questions I wish I could ask them. Like, what are they trying to tell me when they stare at us so intently……… They are a mystery sometimes!

MY cats do that when they don’t like something like they are telling me it is something that goes in the litter box. 🙂

LOL! I thought of that. I actually considered covering it with a piece of newspaper to see what happens. Then I thought, no, that’s going too far! LOL!
